So Bloody Mess is very popular I know. But I've seen this Todd Howard guy all like "OMG LOLZ" around it, so I was wondering how many of you really enjoy it/always used/will use it.
Personally I don't like playing the whole game with it, I prefer to have the more gory deaths restricted to when you land a critical or being more random. Specially now in fallout3 when its being made a perk, I definitely won't be using it, I will grab a more useful perk instead...

I would defiantly have to agree with you on this one. I feel that someone exploding into a thousand fragments of mangled flesh is much like owning a drivers license; a privilege, not a right. I never used it in the original Fallouts because I always was able to tack on skill points into whatever gun skill I was using with incredible ease. This made it easier to see the different death animations. However, I may pick it up this time around because in addition to the more gruesome deaths, you also get statistical perks that may help you along your journey. Overall;

I porbably won't use it. seems like a bit of a waste of a perk for me.

I love it cause i use melee a lot when i first start to conserve ammo. and it makes every kill worth watching. nothin like killin a feral ghoul in one hit of the sledge and seein his body explode like that curly haired comedian hittin a watermelon lol.

Dont forget it also increases the damage by 5%! It's not only aesthetichal, like in fallout 1 and 2.

From my perspective, I picked Demolition Expert over Bloody Mess as I tend to find that the wasteland is PROFOUNDLY littered with frag 'nades, and getting a 20% increase to explosives is, to me, a better tradeoff than 5% increase to all weapons.

That doesn't really make alot of sense, but ...
Seeing some dood get his head ripped off or bits of brain and jaw bones and guts is pretty entertaining if you ask me.

think of a sprite as sort of an animated gif specifically designed for video games. its a 2d animation, or single frame image produced by either hand or in the case of fallout 1 and 2 from a 3d model animation recorded. in other words the sprites in fallout 1 and 2 are videos of 3d models that the developers made. to that end the only limits to detail they had were resolution and the fact that you couldn't examine the gore from every angle. here is a video that demonstrates it very well You are not allowed to view links. Register or Loginhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYd59yMIDz8 fallout 3 however.... well your pretty much limited to chopping off an arm, shooting off the head or causing the head to explode. now i know fallout 1 and 2 only had so many gory death animations per monster but they were in depth, highly detailed and a lot cooler then a guy's arm falling off
