Hi everyone!

As you can see I'm new here, I just had this unusal thing happening to me today, so I just had to find some Fallout forum to ask if that's normal Smiley

When you start from Vault 101 and go in direction oposite to Megaton (so straight to the west according to map) you pass below a huge bridge with like 10 raiders on it, and a bit further there is a farm house or a barn, and a little silos or something like that next to it. So let's just call that place FARM.

I've cleaned the bridge that goes behind (and over) Vault101 entrance, and since it's a dead-end (it's torn down) I got back to where you can get back on the ground. Since all went well I made a real savegame there and decided to go on since my goal was the other Vault connected to storyline (don't remember the number right now, something like 112 or something).

FIRST LOAD
Now, right in front of me there was this FARM and I was mostly running towards it as it was showing single friendly on my compass. Focused on friendly, I didn't see the robot (Brain thingie) to my right so he shot me down badly, but I did kill it, and went into barn. There was this merchant that was kinda crazy, and as soon as I spoke one line with him (something about the life coming back to wastelands) he exited conversation, and said oh I'm shot, and fell down dead. Noone around except him and robot, both dead.

Here is fun part! RELOAD No.2
It was real weird at that point, so I've reloaded and went there again, shot the robot down easily this time, and went to the barn. There were suddenly 3-4 people inside, all friendlies, and they were arguing about not giving the water to someone. And than they started shooting each others, and I stared et them in wonder. So I thought, ok, there were probably guys from 2 gangs, some of them had water, some didn't, so they were fighting over it. But they all ended up dead, and it was weird, so I went to reload again.

RELOAD #3
To my surprise, there were suddenly 4-5 ANTS in the barn, and that robot on the outside, and I was like WTF?! And reloaded again

RELOAD #4
Guess what? Robot + ants + Radscorpion

RELOAD #5
Robot (he is only one that's always there), and inside barn few friendlies and an enemy. When I got there it was just enemy - deathclaw. He was hurt badly so I got him down quickly. Dead guy had a schematics for death-claw glowes.

RELOAD #6
Not sure who was inside barn, but there was big explosion on the outside and something like soda cans was all over the place. When I went there to pick it up, those were ALIEN CELLS ??! Nothing else, just dozens of them

RELOAD #7
Talon mercs with contract to kill me (I've started saving saves after this one, unfortunately previous ones were lost since I didn't save Sad except deathclaw situation which I've saved because of schematics)

RELOAD #8
Single guy asking for water

RELOAD #9
Crazy merchant again, and again he died on me

RELOAD #10
Wastelander, didn't want to talk to me, just stood there "minding my own business"

RELOAD #11
Two guys dressed like some navy captains with ordens and all, looking for the Oasis, tried to kill me after  telling me about Oasis but I was faster

RELOAD #12
4 Ghouls doing nothing

RELOAD #13
3 Ghouls doing nothing

RELOAD #14
To tell the truth.. I forgot already.. But you got it by now. I had to go out after playing like 30 minutes with this SINGLE SAVEGAME, and now I'm home and after writing this I'll go back in the game and keep trying. My goal is to get the situation where there were those 3-4 people fighting over water again, I want to know what's the story about, and I want to repeat the "alien cells bombing" or whatever it is.. So I have them saved as well. I'll report if I find anything else in that barn Smiley

So - had anyone expirienced something like this? I've always found same characters in same places even if I reloaded the game. Sure, maybe they became male/female, different weapons and all.. but never had a single trader transform to 4 warrior ants, and after that to deathclaw and ghouls.. Not to mention that alien bomb with cells flying all around Smiley

If you guys want to try I can take a screenshot of the palce on the map or something.. Not sure how it's done here Smiley

Or maybe that's normal and I've played last 2 months like a blind person.. Smiley

they r all just random events. at least the death claw and the big explosion of soda cans that is actually i crtashed space ship which gave u the most powerful wep in the game firelance blaster and the energy cells are the ammo.

The last posts didn't seem too clear.

Wasteland Random Encounters:

Strange Explosion

Something along the lines of "There is an explosion overhead and Alien technology rains down from the skies!" Basically, a small alien spaceship or pod or something flies over and blows up above your head. When this happens, wait until night time. Night time is easier to see Alien Power Cells because they glow. If you look round really hard then you will find a strange Pistol-type weapon called Firelance which is a special version of the Alien Blaster which sets enemies on fire. There is another Alien Blaster in the game called "Alien Blaster". And with DLC there is another Alien Blaster and another unique Alien Blaster called "Captain's Sidearm". (Broken Steel and Mothership Zeta respectively.)

The Argument of Water

I forget what the game-guide depicts this as but basic storyline is, there's a fridge with four(?) bottles of Purified Water in it. In the post-apocalyptic world of Fallout 3, this would be quite valuable as you could imagine... Enough to risk your life for. So two Wastelanders stumble across this fridge and, coincidentally so do another two Wastelanders at the same time. Hence why there are two of them against another two (Two of them may be ghouls, I forget). The fridge never disappears so it could be like a little bank for you. You can either step in and help one side arguing over the water and they (possibly) share the water with you and I suppose you'd get Neutral Karma overall. I vaguely remember being able to talk it out so they all share the water, Good Karma has itself stamped firmly on that. And then there's the choice of blowing them all to hell and having the water yourself (Woo Bad Karma!). There is no Backdrop story to this, it's a completely random encounter, hence "Wasteland Random Encounters".

The location itself.

As for the location, it is a set location where one of the Wasteland Random Encounters happen. There are multiple locations like this scattered throughout the wasteland, you've just gone and stumbled upon one. I think the encounters vary from location to location as I suppose certain things can't happen at all of the locations, although I found ghouls inside the floor at one of these locations when trying for Firelance. You can reload as much as you like and keep watching these encounters, there's a quite a few of them but they do get boring after a while. I'd go for the encounter that seems most beneficial to you, which tends to be Firelance as apparently once you've been playing for a certain number of hours, this Random Encounter becomes void.
