The combat shotgun makes for a nice security blanket. I was kind of disappointed that it doesn't look like a SPAS-12 though. Also, the name kind of bothers me - aren't all the guns in Fallout used for combat? Other games have this problem too.

It's called a Combat Shotgun because it can fire all the rounds with out any reload. Regular Shotguns need to load a bullet into the chamber after every shot.

All that is scary in Fallout 3 is when someone or something jumps out or you turn and a Deathclaw is standing right next to you. But about the locations. Haven't been to Dunwitch, so I should check it out. But so far... the only thing scary for me was the train station under Grayditch... with all the giant fire-breathing ants. I just don't like bugs. Luckily haven't seen any giant spiders there. Also the Shed in Andale... i think, was creepy when I first went in there. But at least i found out what the strange meet was. Which was actually pretty obvious after some thinking.

Yeah, but the abandoned Vaults really freaked me out too.
And it's fine that you didn't know what Strange Meat was, Mayor MacCreedy asks for some of it to trade for Cave Fungus (Strange Meat or Buffout). But it completely gives it away when you run into the cannibal Hunters and they offer to sell you Strange Meat.

I see a lot of people are saying the Dunwich Building.. And by Christ, they're right. It'd definitely be survival horror if you went in there with nothing, just to see how you do.. hehe so I agree on that one.

Also I have noticed that there are some weird and scary places to visit in Point Lookout.. The Mansion when you fall through the floors and nearly get eaten when they crash through the door at you, and lets not forget that weirded out drug trip you take after the Punga. Just wow.

Can't really say as many of the Vaults freaked me out.. The Gary Vault was just funny, not scary. Although I'd have to say the one with the psychoactive drugs in the air probably freaked me out the most. What was that one, Vault 106 wasn't it? Anyway.. You'd be running along the corridor, aged by 200 years of exposure, then all of a sudden you'd be in a pristine Vault corridor and seeing people walking and talking. It was trippy, man!

Yeah, Vault 106 freaked me out so bad, although this is somewhat shameful to admit; I had to turn off my Xbox, and wait a half hour or so to go in it again. I know, LAME.
Dunwich isn't all that scary, if you have the Ghoul Mask from the Tenpenny Tower quest.
And yeah, Point Lookout is most likely the creepiest place in all of Fallout 3, the Pitt Steelyard though can be real freaky as well.

Well it seems the Dunwich building is the general response, so it wins this round I'd say Tongue

On that note, I've just recently watched an extremely well done video on that building on youtube. See it here - You are not allowed to view links.

Or not, it could really just end up being in the Wasteland again, that would make more sense I think.

I found old olney, vault 106 , deathclaw sanctuary , yao guai tunnels , vault 87 and andale creepy as heck why ? Read on .

Old olney : I was looking for Canterburry commons at level 5. I was lookin around when i saw some what of a city and i thought "Guess that's it" Walking closer revealed about 4 deathclaws running around . I tried to runaway and made it to vault 92 . I then thought "Whew , safe " But you know how deathclaws can oped doors ? ... I then see 2 pop up in front of me and 1 behind me . I proceeded to get raped .

Vault 106 : Damn drugs .

Deathclaw sancutuary : Its dark and theres a shiton of deathclaws in there . Plus all the dead bodys from there meals creep me out .

Yao guai tunnels : The same reason as the deathclaw sanctuary .

Vault 87 : The failed fev projects made me sad . Thinking how they were just people . And they look ugly as hell to .

Andale :Finding what was in the shed and basement me me hurl .
