I´m thinking of just playing the game with a realistic loadout of weapons, for example a .44 magnum,  the Terrible shotgun & 10 grenades. When I would run across a though enemy I would realy have to fend for my life or retreat and breakout my Fatman!

What do you guys do?

I try not to carry too many weapons also... usually just ones for a few common situations.  Like so:

Hunting Rifle - long range
Scoped Magnum - longer range
Frag grenades / pulse grenades - there's always a reason to blow shit up.  Grin
Fat Man - See above
Sydney's Ultra SMG - Sometimes you need to fire lots of shots  Cool
The Terrible Shotgun - close combat
Android's Plasma Rifle - I find it works great against all kinds of different enemies, but espeically robots

Other than those combat weapons, I take what I can carry from the people I kill and repair stuff when I get multiples.

i like to carry a full arsenel of small guns and explosives.

I assign them to the hotkeys 1-8 to give the game a fps feel!

I don't bother with big weapons or mellee as i have no skill in these weapons (i'm gona make an evil meelee/big gun character next time round)

Where do you get this "terible shotgun" i keep hearing people talk about??

Is there a unique version of all the weapons ingame?? I know of the ultra smg but havn't found any others!

Terrible Shotgun Spoiler alert

Don't read below if you want to find it yourself.

When you're in Evergreen Mills, there is a Trader named Smiling Jack or Happy Jack... something like that.  Kill him... he's got it.  I didn't lose karma when I did.  Plus you pay him to repair stuff or buy stuff from him, then just steal it all back.  But the shotgun is the definite prize... Mine is repaired to about 75% and it deals 80 dmg

Hello,
I decided to start afresh last night and kill everything that can be killed, and I discovered if you kill Dave in the Republic of Dave and steal the key to his safe then you gain a weapon called Ol' Fearless, its basically a more powerful hunting rifle.
Also, if you get Lincolns Repeater i find this is a much better use for the magnum ammo than the hand cannon, and you can repair it with the hunting rifle which are a lot more commonplace than the scoped magnum.

I carry a Chinese Assault Rifle, Combat Shotgun, and the Lincoln Repeater.  I tend to carry a few extra guns to use are repairs when the ol' standbys get damaged.

I enjoy blowing people's pants up w/Frag 'nades as well.   Cool

I absolutely love the Combat Shotgun.
Also carry the Chinese Assault Rifle,
.32, .44, and Frag/Pulse Grenades.
(On a lean inventory, otherwise more)

I noticed the 'pants exploded' stat and
have to try that - targeting legs perhaps.
I found Lincoln's Repeater but was thinking
of selling it for the Head of State side quest.
Sounds like I might need to re-think that
if so many players like it so much.  Smiley

Exploding pants is awesome!  They are like "What the..." BOOM  HAHAHA.

The Repeater is sweet because it is a .44 mag but can be repaired cheaply.  If you could Wonderglue the scope from the Hand Cannon to the repeater it would be the ultimate sniping rifle.  All in all if you have a strong SG level the repeater kicks serious mutant tail.

I pretty much just carry small guns such as Magnum, Hunting Rifle, Assault Rifle.
I don't care for explosives (so I just sell them all), and I don't care about Big Guns either.
This way I can just sell all my ammo for guns that I don't use, making a lot of extra caps.

i prefer energy weapons once you progress through the story far enough u can find plasma pistols and energy cells are fairly easy to come by. My loadout is: A3-21 Plasma Rifle, The Xuanlong assault rifle, The Kneecapper (only because i havent gotten "The Terrible Shotgun" yet), Sydney's 10mm ultra, frags, fatman (for the dammed behemoths) , and weapons for repairs.

Did you people really use the fatman?? I tried to ignore it even existed...

I was a small guns dude so I carried rifles (huntin', chinese and lincoln's) and one combat shotgun, and 10mm submachinegun for when I was outta ammo for the rest or they were in too shitty a condition. Also had one rocket launcher and a minigun for when I needed to feel like a total badass Grin. And energy rifle (A23) and pistol just for the heck of it. Of course, I was also carryin' a shitload o' frags.

Oh! and the poisoned stick from moira. It would efficiently deal with the annoyin' molerats... and cockraches... and boatflies... and some ghouls even...

When looting dead people I would repair everything I could and sell the rest.

So many good memories.... too bad I'm waitin' for modders to make it the real game I wanna play!

I always carry with me a:
-Laser rifle - more common item so I can repair more, gain more ammo, and I'm probably wrong but I have a sneaking suspicion that it's more accurate than the plasma rifle
-Gatling Laser - It's big and does a bitch load of damage, need I say more?
-Missle launcher - It's big and goes a long distance
-Victory rifle - with as many other snipers as I can to repair it, Long distance combat = win
-Sydney's 10mm - just in case I run outta ammo with everything else. Gotta shitload of 10mm (4000+, didn't know I had that much till just recently, lulz)
-Rock-it launcher - again, just in case I run out of ammo.

I've invested a lot of points into all 3 gun types. For energy weapons I've got 92, for big guns I've got 83, and for small guns I've got 86.
